Personal Consultation

Personal consultations are a more in-depth way of receiving the personal advice you require to help you decide on a name for your baby.

It may be that you have drawn up a shortlist of names but are unable to decide on one or two. On the other hand, you may be in the opposite predicament and unable to select even one or two potential names. In either circumstance we can help you, by providing you with historical, cultural and personal information to help you make a choice.

During your consultation we will undertake to determine any particular requirements you have for a potential baby name. These could include:

• Family history
• The baby's surname
• Gender, if known
• Traditional or modern styles
• Nationality
• Unique names
• A meaning you would like the name to have
• Traits you would like the name to convey

eleanor will then suggest suitable names based on these preferences and your personal style. We can then discuss these suggestions and provide alternatives depending on what you like and what you don't like about them.

At the end of your consultation, depending on your requirements, we will agree either a shortlist of names for each gender (or for one gender if known), or one or two names from your shortlist.

eleanor will then send you a display certificate with historical, cultural and personal circumstances surrounding the names you have chosen during your consultation. This is a great reference article for you, and also a wonderful keepsake for both your baby book and for your child to look back at when they have grown up.

The real benefit of a personal consultation over a telephone consultation is the personal, human touch it provides. Because eleanor was established to provide expectant mothers with a more personal service over the current influx of websites and forums full of strangers offering advice, the more of a personal touch we can give the better our service will be - and there is nothing more personal than meeting face to face. A personal consultation also allows both the mother and father to be present. It is also sometimes easier to understand naming requirements when the baby's parents can be seen in person like this, as it gives us a better understanding of you, your lifestyle, and even what your baby might look like.

• 45 minutes £54.99

All prices include your own personal name display certificate.

Location

Personal consultations are usually carried out at eleanor's base in west Surrey, in the south east of England. We have excellent road and rail connections to most of the country and are just a 35 minute train journey from central London. If you would prefer eleanor to come to your house for a personal consultation this can easily be arranged at a small cost; please contact us.

Terms

• We usually recommend 45 minutes for a personal consultation.
• Personal consultations must be booked in advance. There is no minimum time to book in advance, but please contact us before purchasing a consultation to book a time that would be best for you to come to eleanor.
• We are available 7 days of the week and our times are completely flexible to suit you.
• To get the most out of your consultation we encourage you to email over your current shortlist or a list of any requirements you have for a potential name prior to your consultation.
